Jane Niswonger Green
Over the past 50 years (gosh that is hard to say--I am not that old) I attended and graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Elementary Education. While at C.U. I also became a member of Chi Omega Sorority. After graduation I married in 1966 (divorced in 1997); I lived in Denver where I taught school with the Denver Public School System. In 1969 I moved to N. Virginia, the Washington D.C. area, later moved to El Paso Texas, back to N. Virginia and then to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
I have four wonderful children, three sons and one daughter. They are all married to wonderful spouses and have given me eight amazing, beautiful grandchildren- five grandsons and three granddaughters. While my children where growing up I continued to teach at a private pre-school in Bloomfield Hills and loved every moment that I was able to work with children.
I am now living in Colorado Springs. I work three days a week for my brother at Patsy’s Candies on 21st St., and three days a week at Sparrow Hawk the Kitchen Store in downtown Colorado Springs. This is not as much fun or as rewarding as teaching but it keeps me busy! I frequently travel to see my children and their families who are scattered all over. Matthew, my oldest son, is a police officer in Traverse City Michigan, where he lives with his wife and three sons. Travis, my second oldest, works with the State Department in Washington D.C. He lives in the N. Virginia area with his wife and two sons. My third oldest son, Joshua lives with his wife and three daughters in Raton, New Mexico where he is a firefighter. My daughter Courtney lives with her husband on the island of Kauai and is teaching at the local Junior High School.
