        Susan's Letter of April 10, 2017:

Dear Classmates:

We finally have all our plans in order for our CMHS 55th high school reunion thanks to our wonderful committee. We have three fun-packed days planned, June 9-11, 2017, and we were able to keep the cost a little lower than it was five years ago. Make your checks for $42 for you ($37 for an additional person) payable to "Karen Johnston" and mail them to: Karen Gund Johnston, 6386 W. Potter Dr., Glendale, AZ 85308. If you would like to use your credit card and pay through PayPal, add $3 a person, and Dan will have the information on the website for that. The cost includes your dinner Friday and Saturday nights and your reunion booklet. For Sunday’s brunch you will pay at the restaurant. If you are bringing a spouse or friend, be sure to include their name with your check. Karen Bakken Predovich and Raye Smith Wilson will make name tags for all of us.

Motel reservations have been made for the nights of June 8, 9, and 10 at the Quality Inn South, 1410 Harrison Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Their number is 719-579-6900. Rooms are under the group name CHEYENNE 62. The motel rooms will release any rooms not reserved by May 8th, and there is a huge convention in town that weekend so if you are even considering coming to the reunion make reservations now!
Friday, June 9

We will meet at Sheri Davis McLaughlin’s house in Skyway at 5:00 PM for food and fellowship. It will be fun to spend time together after 55 years. Her address is 2409 Parkview Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906. We are ordering pizza and salad from Billy's Old World Pizza. The committee will provide soft drinks and dessert. You are responsible to BYOB.

Saturday, June 10

Susan Feldt Osborn is setting up a luncheon at the Tavern Garden Room for Saturday at 12.00. E-mail her at Susantosb@gmail.com or call 714-313-8651 by June 1 if you are interested.

Taffy Gray McLaughlin offered to host a get-together at 2:00 PM on Saturday for all those who went to kindergarten together. If you are interested, call or email Susan for this also.

Sheri Davis McLaughlin has offered to open her home once again Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM for an afternoon visit for everyone. That way no one will have to fight rush-hour traffic before dinner.

Dinner Saturday night will be at 5:00 PM at the Mule Train Clubhouse, 3415. Janitell Rd. Torry Krutzke has also arranged this. Dinner is catered from Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que. Soft drinks will be provided, but alcoholic drinks need to be BYOB.

 

Sunday, June 11

We will meet at the Colorado Mountain Brewery at 600 S. 21st St, Colorado Springs CO 80904. 719-466-8240 We are scheduled for use of their private room from 11: 00 AM until 3:00 PM. Our special menu is on the website, and you will pay for your own meal there. I know a few of you will be flying out earlier on Sunday and won’t be able to join us. However, you can join Torry for breakfast at the Mule Train on Sunday if you would like.  Just let him know.

Torry will put a reunion booklet together for us with the information on the website. We will include everyone, whether you are coming to the reunion or not. What we need you to do is to update your bio that is on the website. Dan’s email is ddavis@hpc-educ.org.  If you do not update your bio, we will just print what is on the website. Please do this by April 15. Raye Smith Wilson will mail out the booklets for those who do not attend. If you would like a reunion booklet mailed to you, please send a check to Karen for $7 ($5, plus $2 for evelope and postage.

 

I’ve tried to make this as succinct as possible. All the details you need are on the website, or you can contact me, Dan, or Torry if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in June.

        Susan's Letter of March 17, 2017:

Dear Classmates:

We didn’t have enough people for the Hatch Cover for our luncheon on Sunday, June 11, so we will meet at the Colorado Mountain Brewery at 600 S. 21st St, Colorado Springs CO 80904. 719-466-8240. The details for all of this will be in our next email once we have the prices in a few days. We just wanted to let you in on our plans for Sunday. I am really getting excited about the reunion, and I hope all of you are too.

Dear Classmates,

It’s time for you to start making plans for our 55 th CMHS reunion, June 9-11, 2017.

Torry Krutzke  will put a reunion booklet together for us with the information on the website. We will include everyone, whether you are coming to the reunion or not. We will also make the booklets available for those who cannot attend. What we need you to do is to update your bio that is on the website. If you would like a different picture for your modern picture on the website, send a new picture to Dan along with your bio. His email is ddavis@hpc-educ.org.  If you do not update your bio, we will just print what is on the website. Please do this by April 1. If you need a copy of your old bio to work from, let Dan know.

Motel reservations have been made for the nights of June 8, 9, and 10. Torry reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Quality Inn South, 1410 Harrison Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Their number is 719-579-6900. Rooms are under the group name CHEYENNE 62. There are 10 double bed rooms and 10 king bed rooms. The rates are $119 for the king bed rooms and $129 for the double bed rooms. The guarantee rate for those rooms is only if we confirm 10 or more rooms. If we do not make 10 confirmations the rate increases by $10 a room. Any necessary cancellations must be made before 4 PM of the first reserved night, i.e. June 8th. The motel rooms will release any rooms not reserved by May 8th.

Ice tea and coffee will be provided, but alcoholic drinks need to be BYOB.

     

 

We are still firming up a place for Sunday and figuring out a cost for the reunion package. We are planning to keep the prices low this year, since our money is shrinking as we get older.

I have fond memories of our 50th high school reunion and am looking forward to seeing many of you at the 55th.
